Astronaut Eileen Collins becomes the first woman to pilot the Space Shuttle as mission STS-63 gets underway from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. (3. February 1995)

Third Taiwan Strait Crisis: The People's Liberation Army begins firing missiles into the waters north of Taiwan. (21. July 1995)

The Washington Post and The New York Times publish the Unabomber's manifesto. (19. September 1995)

Oklahoma City bombing: Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols are indicted for the bombing. Michael Fortier pleads guilty in a plea-bargain for his testimony. (10. August 1995)

TAROM Flight 371 crashed, killing all of the 10 crew and 50 passengers on board. (31. March 1995)

The Corona reconnaissance satellite program, in existence from 1959 to 1972, is declassified. (22. February 1995)

U.S. President Bill Clinton visits Northern Ireland and speaks in favour of the "Northern Ireland peace process" to a huge rally at Belfast City Hall. He calls terrorists "yesterday's men". (30. November 1995)

A gas bottle explodes in Saint Michel station of line B of the RER (Paris regional train network). Eight are killed and 80 wounded. (25. July 1995)

O. J. Simpson is acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. (3. October 1995)

51 Pegasi is discovered to be the second major star apart from the Sun to have a planet orbiting around it. (6. October 1995)

The long-range Boeing 777 entered service with United Airlines. (7. June 1995)

The first version of the Java programming language is released. (23. May 1995)

The Million Man March occurs in Washington, D.C. (16. October 1995)

Cleveland Browns relocation controversy: Art Modell announces that he signed a deal that would relocate the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore to become the Baltimore Ravens, the first time the city had a football team since 1983 when they were the Baltimore Colts. (6. November 1995)

The Dayton Peace Agreement is initialed at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton, Ohio, ending three and a half years of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The agreement is formally ratified in Paris, on December 14 that same year. (21. November 1995)
