War of the First Coalition: The British capture Trincomalee (present-day Sri Lanka) from the Dutch in order to keep it out of French hands. (31. August 1795)

French Revolution: the Revolutionary Tribunal is suppressed. (31. May 1795)

The first occupation by United Kingdom of Cape Colony, South Africa with the Battle of Hout Bay, after successive victories at the Battle of Muizenberg and Wynberg, after William V requested protection against revolutionary France's occupation of the Netherlands. (16. September 1795)

The first stone of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is laid. (25. July 1795)
