Chile and Bolivia sign the Treaty of Peace and Friendship, delimiting the border between the two countries. (20. October 1904)

Edmonton, Alberta is incorporated as a city. (8. October 1904)

Polytechnic University of the Philippines founded as Manila Business School through the superintendence of the American C.A. O'Reilley. (19. October 1904)

General Esteban Huertas steps down after the government of Panama fears he wants to stage a coup. (18. November 1904)

The Russian Baltic Fleet leaves Reval, Estonia for Port Arthur during the Russo-Japanese War. (15. October 1904)

Louis Rigolly, a Frenchman, becomes the first man to break the 100 mph (161 km/h) barrier on land. He drove a 15-liter Gobron-Brille in Ostend, Belgium. (21. July 1904)
