Belfast's Bloody Sunday: 16 people are killed and 161 houses destroyed during rioting and gun battles in Belfast, Northern Ireland. (10. July 1921)

The Autonomous Government of Khorasan, a military government encompassing the modern state of Iran, is established. (2. April 1921)

After Russian forces under Baron Roman von Ungern-Sternberg drive the Chinese out, the Bogd Khan is reinstalled as the emperor of Mongolia. (22. February 1921)

16-year-old Margaret Gorman wins the Atlantic City Pageant's Golden Mermaid trophy; pageant officials later dubbed her the first Miss America. (8. September 1921)

Italian Fascists shoot from the Parenzana train at a group of children in Strunjan (Slovenia): two children are killed and five wounded. (19. March 1921)

Mongolia is proclaimed an independent monarchy, ruled by Russian military officer Roman von Ungern-Sternberg as a dictator. (13. March 1921)

Constituent Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Georgia adopts the country's first constitution. (21. February 1921)

Irish War of Independence: One of the biggest engagements of the war takes place at Crossbarry, County Cork. About 100 Irish Republican Army (IRA) volunteers escape an attempt by over 1,300 British forces to encircle them. (19. March 1921)

The U.S. Congress passes the Emergency Quota Act establishing national quotas on immigration. (19. May 1921)
