2013 Egyptian coup d'état: President of Egypt Mohamed Morsi is overthrown by the military after 4 days of protests all over the country calling for Morsi's resignation, to which he didn't respond. President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt Adly Mansour is declared acting president. (3. July 2013)

A bomb explodes on a bus in the Pakistani city of Quetta, killing at least 25 people and wounding 22 others. (15. June 2013)

A bomb blast at a market in Hazara Town in Quetta, Pakistan, kills more than 80 people and injures 190 others. (16. February 2013)

Three women missing for more than a decade are found alive in the U.S. city of Cleveland, Ohio, while a 52-year-old man, Ariel Castro, is taken into custody. (6. May 2013)

A Boeing 777 operating as Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crashes at San Francisco International Airport, killing 3 and injuring 181 of the 307 people on board. (6. July 2013)

Gunmen attack a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, killing at least 72 people. (21. September 2013)

The asteroid 1998 QE2 and its moon make their closest approach to Earth for the next two centuries. (31. May 2013)

An EF5 tornado strikes outside Oklahoma City killing 24 people and injuring 377 others. (20. May 2013)

6 people die and 22 are injured when a train derails in Huimanguillo, Tabasco, Mexico. (25. August 2013)

Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest storms in history hits the Visayas region in the Philippines. The typhoon killed 6,201 people as of 29 January 2014 and was considered the typhoon in the country. It caused around $1 billion in damages unofficially. (8. November 2013)

19 firefighters die controlling a wildfire in Yarnell, Arizona. (30. June 2013)

27 people are killed and more than 30 injured, when a tanker truck crashes and explodes outside Mexico City. (7. May 2013)

Taliban insurgents attack the United States consulate in Herat, Afghanistan, with two members of the Afghan National Police reported dead and about 20 civilians injured. (13. September 2013)
