Vojvodina, formerly Austro-Hungarian crown land, proclaims its secession from Austria–Hungary to join the Kingdom of Serbia. (25. November 1918)

Decree "On Red Terror" is published in Russia. (5. September 1918)

World War I: Arab forces under T. E. Lawrence, also known as "Lawrence of Arabia", capture Damascus. (1. October 1918)

Erich Ludendorff, quartermaster-general of the Imperial German Army, is dismissed by Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany for refusing to cooperate in peace negotiations. (26. October 1918)

Czechoslovakia becomes a republic. (14. November 1918)

The Montenegran Podgorica Assembly votes for a "union of the people", declaring assimilation into the Kingdom of Serbia. (26. November 1918)

Malbone Street Wreck: the worst rapid transit accident in US history occurs under the intersection of Malbone Street and Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, New York City, with at least 102 deaths. (1. November 1918)

The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (later known as the Kingdom of Yugoslavia) is proclaimed. (1. December 1918)

Portuguese President Sidónio Pais is assassinated. (14. December 1918)

Vincas Mickevičius-Kapsukas declares the formation of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic. (16. December 1918)
