British governor Charles Lawrence and the Nova Scotia Council order the deportation of the Acadians. Thousands of Acadians are sent to the British Colonies in America, France and England. Some later move to Louisiana, while others resettle in New Brunswick. (25. July 1755)

French and Indian War: Braddock Expedition – British troops and colonial militiamen are ambushed and suffer a devastating defeat by French and Native American forces. (9. July 1755)

Moscow University is established on Tatiana Day. (25. January 1755)

French and Indian War: the French surrender Fort Beauséjour to the British, leading to the expulsion of the Acadians. (16. June 1755)

Commodore William James captures the pirate fortress of Suvarnadurg on west coast of India. (2. April 1755)

Laredo, Texas is established by the Spaniards. (15. May 1755)
