Cincinnati Reds pitcher Adolfo Luque becomes the first Latin player to appear in a World Series. (3. October 1919)

Sir Barton wins the Belmont Stakes, becoming the first horse to win the Triple Crown. (11. June 1919)

150 die at the Teatro Yaguez fire, Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. (20. June 1919)

In Milan, Italy, Benito Mussolini founds his Fascist political movement. (23. March 1919)

John Alcock and Arthur Brown complete the first nonstop transatlantic flight when they reach Clifden, County Galway, Ireland. (15. June 1919)

Following Peace Day celebrations marking the end of World War I, ex-servicemen riot and burn down Luton Town Hall. (19. July 1919)

Estonian War of Independence: the decisive defeat of the Baltische Landeswehr in the Battle of Cesis. This day is celebrated as Victory Day in Estonia. (23. June 1919)

The Treaty of Versailles is signed in Paris, bringing fighting to an end in between Germany and the Allies of World War I. (28. June 1919)

The Chicago Race Riot erupts after a racial incident occurred on a South Side beach, leading to 38 fatalities and 537 injuries over a five-day period. (27. July 1919)

The International Labour Organization is founded. (11. April 1919)

The Winnipeg General Strike begins. By 11:00 am, almost the whole working population of Winnipeg, Manitoba had walked off the job. (15. May 1919)

The NC-4 aircraft arrives in Lisbon after completing the first transatlantic flight. (27. May 1919)

Jallianwala Bagh massacre: British troops gun down at least 379 unarmed demonstrators in Amritsar, India; at least 1200 are wounded. (13. April 1919)

The Republic of Prekmurje is founded. (29. May 1919)

The Hungarian Soviet Republic is established becoming the first Communist government to be formed in Europe after the October Revolution in Russia. (21. March 1919)

Anarchists simultaneously set off bombs in eight separate U.S. cities. (2. June 1919)

The U.S. Congress passes the Volstead Act over President Woodrow Wilson's veto, paving the way for Prohibition to begin the following January. (28. October 1919)
