War of 1812: After learning of American plans for a surprise attack on Beaver Dams in Ontario, Laura Secord sets out on a 30 kilometer journey on foot to warn Lieutenant James FitzGibbon. (22. June 1813)

Creek War – Fort Mims massacre: Creek "Red Sticks" kill over 500 settlers (including over 250 armed militia) in Fort Mims, north of Mobile, Alabama. (30. August 1813)

South American independence leader Simón Bolívar enters Mérida, leading the invasion of Venezuela, and is proclaimed El Libertador ("The Liberator"). (24. May 1813)

Napoleon I of France defeats a numerically superior Russian and Austrian Army at the Battle of Bautzen (19. May 1813)

British soldiers burn Buffalo, New York during the War of 1812. (30. December 1813)

Battle of Thames in Canada; Americans defeat British and kill Shawnee leader Tecumseh. (5. October 1813)

War of 1812: three weeks of British raids on Fort Schlosser, Black Rock and Plattsburgh, New York commence. (5. July 1813)

Napoleon Bonaparte leads his French troops into the Battle of Bautzen in Saxony, Germany, against the combined armies of Russia and Prussia. The battle ends the next day with a French victory. (20. May 1813)

War of 1812: Battle of Crysler's Farm – British and Canadian forces defeat a larger American force, causing the Americans to abandon their Saint Lawrence campaign. (11. November 1813)
