The Hebei Spirit oil spill begins in South Korea after a crane barge that had broken free from a tug collides with the Very Large Crude Carrier, Hebei Spirit. (7. December 2007)

Winter storms cause the Chehalis River to flood many cities in Lewis County, Washington, and close a 20-mile portion of Interstate 5 for several days. At least eight deaths and billions of dollars in damages are blamed on the floods. (3. December 2007)

Former Philippine President Joseph Estrada is convicted of the crime of plunder. (12. September 2007)

Three unidentified gunmen storm an office of Benazir Bhutto's Pakistan Peoples Party in Balochistan. Three PPP supporters are killed. (8. December 2007)

Jokela school shooting in Tuusula, Finland, resulting in the death of nine people. (7. November 2007)

Mercenaries working for Blackwater Worldwide allegedly shoot and kill 17 Iraqis in Nisour Square, Baghdad; all criminal charges against them are later dismissed, sparking outrage in the Arab world. (16. September 2007)
