Hugh Capet is crowned King of France, the first of the Capetian dynasty that would rule France until the French Revolution in 1792. (3. July 987)

Ulrich of Augsburg is canonized as a saint. (4. July 993)

The Norse King Glun Iarainn recognises Máel Sechnaill II, High King of Ireland, and agrees to pay taxes and accept Brehon Law; the event is considered to be the founding of the city of Dublin. (10. July 988)

Signing of the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte between Charles the Simple and Rollo of Normandy. (11. July 911)

Æthelstan, King of England, secures a pledge from Constantine II of Scotland that the latter will not ally with Viking kings, beginning the process of unifying Great Britain. This is considered the closest thing that England has to a foundation date. (12. July 927)

Rollo lays siege to Chartres. (20. July 911)

Rout of an alliance of Christian troops from Navarre and Léon against the Muslims at Pamplona. (26. July 920)

Sack of Thessalonica: Saracen raiders under Leo of Tripoli sack Thessaloniki, the Byzantine Empire's second-largest city, after a short siege, and plunder it for a week. (29. July 904)

Thessalonica falls to the Arabs, who destroy the city. (31. July 904)

Taormina, the last Byzantine stronghold in Sicily, is captured by the Aghlabids army. (1. August 902)

The last major Danish army to raid England is defeated at the Battle of Tettenhall by the allied forces of Mercia and Wessex, led by King Edward the Elder and Earl Aethelred of Mercia. (5. August 910)

The Battle of Alhandic is fought between Ramiro II of León and Abd-ar-Rahman III at Zamora in the context of the Spanish Reconquista. The battle resulted in a victory for the Emirate of Cordoba. (5. August 939)

Battle of Lechfeld: Otto I, Holy Roman Emperor defeats the Magyars, ending 50 years of Magyar invasion of the West. (10. August 955)

Battle of Maldon: the English, led by Byrhtnoth, Ealdorman of Essex, are defeated by a band of inland-raiding Vikings near Maldon, Essex. (10. August 991)

The Saracens conquer and destroy Taranto. (15. August 927)

Holy Roman Emperor Otto II is defeated by the Saracens in the Battle of Capo Colonna, in Calabria (15. August 982)

Byzantine–Bulgarian Wars: Battle of the Gates of Trajan – The Bulgarians under the Comitopuli Samuel and Aron defeat the Byzantine forces at the Gates of Trajan, with Byzantine Emperor Basil II barely escaping. (17. August 986)

Battle of Acheloos: Tsar Simeon I of Bulgaria decisively defeats a Byzantine army. (20. August 917)
