A gas bottle explodes in Saint Michel station of line B of the RER (Paris regional train network). Eight are killed and 80 wounded. (25. July 1995)

Oklahoma City bombing: Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols are indicted for the bombing. Michael Fortier pleads guilty in a plea-bargain for his testimony. (10. August 1995)

André Dallaire attempts to assassinate Prime Minister Jean Chrétien of Canada. He is thwarted when the Prime Minister's wife locks the door. (5. November 1995)

U.S. President Bill Clinton visits Northern Ireland and speaks in favour of the "Northern Ireland peace process" to a huge rally at Belfast City Hall. He calls terrorists "yesterday's men". (30. November 1995)

U.S. President Bill Clinton becomes the first President to visit Northern Ireland. (30. April 1995)

Marco Campos, died in an accident in a International Formula 3000 race at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, making him the only driver ever killed in the International Formula 3000 series. (15. October 1995)

Former Prime Minister of Italy Bettino Craxi is convicted in absentia of corruption. (27. October 1995)

Third Taiwan Strait Crisis: The People's Liberation Army begins firing missiles into the waters north of Taiwan. (21. July 1995)

Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani deposes his father Khalifa bin Hamad al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, in a bloodless coup. (26. June 1995)

First Chechen War: Russian paramilitary troops begin a massacre of civilians in Samashki, Chechnya. (7. April 1995)

The Srebrenica massacre is carried out. (11. July 1995)

The Navaly church bombing is carried out by the Sri Lanka Air Force killing 125 Tamil civilian refugees. (9. July 1995)

Official end of Operation Desert Storm. (30. November 1995)

Nagerkovil school bombing, is carried out by Sri Lankan Air Force in which at least 34 die, most of them ethnic Tamil school children. (22. September 1995)

In Nigeria, playwright and environmental activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, along with eight others from the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (Mosop), are hanged by government forces. (10. November 1995)

Latvia applies for membership in the European Union. (27. October 1995)
