Stockport Air Disaster: British Midland flight G-ALHG crashes in Hopes Carr, Stockport, killing 72 passengers and crew. (4. June 1967)

Vietnam War: off the coast of North Vietnam the USS Forrestal catches on fire in the worst U.S. naval disaster since World War II, killing 134. (29. July 1967)

U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson nominates Solicitor-General Thurgood Marshall to become the first black justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. (13. June 1967)

Led by Abbie Hoffman, the Youth International Party temporarily disrupts trading at the NYSE by throwing dollar bills from the viewing gallery, causing trading to cease as brokers scramble to grab them. (24. August 1967)

The People's Republic of China announces a successful test of its first thermonuclear weapon. (17. June 1967)

Argentina becomes a member of the Berne Convention copyright treaty. (10. June 1967)

Cold War: U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson meets with Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin in Glassboro, New Jersey for the three-day Glassboro Summit Conference. (23. June 1967)

The Monterey Pop Festival begins (16. June 1967)

Protests in West Berlin against the arrival of the Shah of Iran turn into riots, during which Benno Ohnesorg is killed by a police officer. His death results in the founding of the terrorist group Movement 2 June. (2. June 1967)

The United States Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia declares all U.S. state laws which prohibit interracial marriage to be unconstitutional. (12. June 1967)

Six-Day War: The USS Liberty incident occurs, killing 34 and wounding 171. (8. June 1967)

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is founded by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. (8. August 1967)

Six-Day War: The Israeli army enters Hebron and the Cave of the Patriarchs. (8. June 1967)

12th Street Riot: in Detroit, Michigan, one of the worst riots in United States history begins on 12th Street in the predominantly African American inner city. It will leave 43 killed, 342 injured and 1,400 buildings burned. (23. July 1967)

Luis Monge is executed in Colorado's gas chamber, in the last pre-Furman execution in the United States. (2. June 1967)

The Newark riots begin in Newark, New Jersey. (12. July 1967)
