Karachi bombings: A suicide attack on a motorcade carrying former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto kills 139 and wounds 450 more. Bhutto herself is not injured. (18. October 2007)

Russia tests the largest conventional weapon ever, the Father of All Bombs. (11. September 2007)

Between 30,000 and 100,000 people take part in anti-government protests in Yangon, Burma, the largest in 20 years. (24. September 2007)

Cyclone Sidr hits Bangladesh, killing an estimated 5,000 people and destroying parts of the world's largest mangrove forest, the Sundarbans. (15. November 2007)
