Battle of Maserfield – Penda of Mercia defeats and kills Oswald of Northumbria. (5. August 642)

The Avar and Slav armies leave the siege of Constantinople. (7. August 626)

Arab–Byzantine wars: The Battle of Yarmouk between Byzantine Empire and Rashidun Caliphate begins. (15. August 636)

Battle of Marj Rahit: Umayyad partisans defeat the supporters of Ibn al-Zubayr and cement Umayyad control of Syria. (18. August 684)

Battle of Yarmouk: Arab forces led by Khalid ibn al-Walid take control of Syria and Palestine away from the Byzantine Empire, marking the first great wave of Muslim conquests and the rapid advance of Islam outside Arabia. (20. August 636)

Abu Bakr dies at Medina and is succeeded by Umar I who becomes the second caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate. (23. August 634)

Silla–Tang armies crush the Baekje restoration attempt and force Yamato Japan to withdraw from Korea in the Battle of Baekgang. (28. August 663)

Emperor Heraclius enters Constantinople in triumph after his victory over the Persian Empire. (14. September 629)

Eastern Roman Emperor Constans II is assassinated in his bath at Syracuse, Italy. (15. September 668)

Siege of Damascus: The Rashidun Arabs under Khalid ibn al-Walid capture Damascus from the Byzantine Empire. (19. September 634)

Muhammad and Abu Bakr arrived Medina (20. September 622)

Heraclius arrives by ship from Africa at Constantinople, overthrows Byzantine Emperor Phocas and becomes Emperor. (4. October 610)

Battle of Karbala: Hussain bin Ali, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, is decapitated by forces under Caliph Yazid I. This is commemorated by Muslims as Aashurah. (10. October 680)
