Napoleon annexes the Kingdom of Holland as part of the First French Empire. (9. July 1810)

Napoleon annexes Westphalia as part of the First French Empire. (9. August 1810)

Napoleonic Wars: The French Navy defeats the British Royal Navy, preventing them from taking the harbour of Grand Port on Île de France. (27. August 1810)

Citizens of Bogotá, New Granada declare independence from Spain. (20. July 1810)

United States annexes the former Spanish colony of West Florida. (27. October 1810)

First Oktoberfest: The Bavarian royalty invites the citizens of Munich to join the celebration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. (12. October 1810)

Andreas Hofer, Tirolean patriot and leader of rebellion against Napoleon's forces, is executed. (20. February 1810)

The newspaper Gazeta de Buenos Ayres was first published in Argentina. (7. June 1810)

May Revolution: citizens of Buenos Aires expel Viceroy Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros during the May week, starting the Argentine War of Independence. (25. May 1810)

First Government Junta in Chile. Though supposed to rule only in the absence of the king, it is in fact the first step towards independence from Spain, and is commemorated as such. (18. September 1810)

Napoleon Bonaparte divorces his first wife Joséphine. (10. January 1810)

The Royal Navy seizes Guadeloupe. (4. February 1810)

A new Act of Succession is adopted by the Riksdag of the Estates and Jean Baptiste Bernadotte becomes heir to the Swedish throne. (26. September 1810)

Venezuela achieves home rule: Vicente Emparan, Governor of the Captaincy General is removed by the people of Caracas and a junta is installed. (19. April 1810)
