Khojaly massacre: about 613 civilians are killed by Armenian armed forces during the conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. (25. February 1992)

El Salvador officials and rebel leaders sign the Chapultepec Peace Accords in Mexico City, Mexico ending the 12-year Salvadoran Civil War that claimed at least 75,000 lives. (16. January 1992)

The USS Missouri, the last active United States Navy battleship, is decommissioned in Long Beach, California. (31. March 1992)

Nagorno-Karabakh War: Khojaly Massacre: Armenian armed forces open fire on Azeri civilians at a military post outside the town of Khojaly leaving hundreds dead. (26. February 1992)

President of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia flees the country as a result of the military coup. (6. January 1992)
